In the whole vehicle test, the measurement of vehicle wheel speed is a very important traditional item. This test is mainly used to evaluate the vehicle's ABS anti-lock braking system and related brake control system. For example, when the vehicle turns, the wheel speed difference between the inside and outside of the vehicle, the skidding and idling of the vehicle on the road with rapid acceleration or low adhesion coefficient, and the wheel locking of the vehicle during emergency braking, etc. Under these conditions, to accurately evaluate the vehicle brake control system or traction control system, the vehicle wheel speed must be relied on.

At present, the mainstream vehicle wheel speed measuring equipment basically uses the encoder output pulse to measure the vehicle wheel speed. Generally, the sensor is connected to the wheel through the clamp. The rotation of the wheel drives the encoder in the sensor to rotate. The pulse signal output by the encoder is used to measure the wheel speed signal, as shown in the following figure:

At present, this method has been widely used in vehicle testing, but this equipment needs to fix the stator of the encoder with a special fixture to complete the measurement, and the signal of each encoder must be connected to the measurement host in the vehicle through the harness. On the one hand, it takes a lot of time to install the stator fixing rod for each vehicle. On the other hand, each wheel has a wire harness connected to the vehicle. Especially, commercial vehicles often have 6, 8 or more wheels. At this time, the wire harness will be very many and need to be very long, which leads to a large number of complicated wire harnesses to be arranged, which causes great inconvenience to the test engineer and affects the test progress.

In order to solve the problem that users spend a lot of manpower and material resources in installing the stator fixing device and arranging a large number of wire harnesses, ZEER specifically developed this innovative device - wireless wheel speed sensor. The wheel speed sensor does not need to install the stator fixing device, and the sensor body rotates with the wheel, and relies on the rotation of the built-in gyroscope (without encoder) to measure the wheel speed of the vehicle. 1. No stator or fixed reference point is required

The wheel speed sensor is directly installed on the wheel hub and rotates with the wheel hub to directly measure the wheel speed, without the stator or fixed reference point, and the installation is simple and fast. After the sensor is installed through the fixture, it can provide wheel speed measurement with 0.3% accuracy and will not be affected by axle vibration. Whether it is on the indoor bench or outdoor road test, such as snow, sand and other roads, it can provide accurate wheel speed measurement.

2. Ultra-short installation preparation time

The wireless wheel speed acquisition module can be quickly installed at the wheel hub of the vehicle by using professional clamps (chuck, claw and sleeve). Since there is no need to install the stator rod and harness, each wheel can be installed in about 5 minutes, which provides a guarantee for rapid test.

3. Synchronous collection of wheel speed

The wheel speed acquisition module at the four wheel ends synchronously transmits the measured wheel speed data to the main receiving module to realize the synchronous acquisition of the four wheel speeds, and can transmit the measured data to the data acquisition equipment (such as VBOX and Dewtron) through the CAN protocol in real time.

     

4. Integrated temperature measurement

In addition to directly measuring the wheel speed, each slave is also equipped with a two-channel temperature measurement module, which supports the thermocouple input of E, J, K, N, R, S, T types, and can be used for the measurement of tire temperature and brake disc temperature.


5. Module expandable

The measurement module is configured with 4 slaves and 1 host by default, so it only supports measurement scenarios with 4 wheels. If the measurement scenario of multi-axle commercial vehicles requires measuring 6, 8 or more wheel speeds, the module series superposition method can be used to solve the problem. Each module has its own external slot. Two or more modules can be connected in series by docking the slots. The data of all modules will be output synchronously through the CAN channel of the first host, so as to achieve more requirements for wheel speed measurement.
