Jack Tan, Alumnus of Hefei University of Technology, Returns to His Alma Mater for the 80th Anniversary Celebration and the Founding of the First Alumni Entrepreneurs Association

On October 6, the Hefei University of Technology Alumni Entrepreneurs Association was officially established, comprising 142 alumni enterprises. Among them are 35 listed companies and 83 national high-tech enterprises. A first council of 38 member enterprises was elected, with Mr. Yin Tongyue, Chairman of Chery Automobile, serving as the inaugural council president.

“The vast number of alumni, especially alumni entrepreneurs, are the most valuable and reliable force behind the university’s development,” said Yu Xiangcheng, Secretary of the Party Committee of Hefei University of Technology. He emphasized that the Association will leverage the university’s academic strengths and alumni resources to build an integrated ecosystem linking government, industry, academia, research, finance, and application. The platform aims to facilitate high-level exchanges among alumni entrepreneurs—sharing business insights, management experience, and industry trends while strengthening ties among fellow graduates. “We will fully unite the power of alumni entrepreneurs, focusing deeply on major missions such as collaborative innovation in core technologies, co-construction of emerging industrial ecosystems, and the cultivation of new productive forces—contributing even more strongly to the autonomy and high-quality development of China’s industrial system.”

Mr. Jack Tan, Chairman of Guangzhou ZEER Testing Technology, attended the event together with company consultant Mr. Yu Yong, and engaged in discussions with several leaders from the automotive industry present at the conference.

On the morning of October 7, the 80th Anniversary Celebration of Hefei University of Technology was held at the Tunxi Road Stadium. Distinguished attendees included Liang Yanshun, Secretary of the Anhui Provincial Party Committee and Director of the Standing Committee of the Anhui Provincial People’s Congress; Xu Qingsen, Member of the Party Leadership Group and Vice Minister of the Ministry of Education; Fei Gaoyun, Member of the Standing Committee of the Anhui Provincial Party Committee and Secretary of the Hefei Municipal Party Committee; Shan Xiangqian, Member and Secretary-General of the Anhui Provincial Standing Committee; Ren Qinghua, Vice Governor of Anhui Province; and other provincial and municipal leaders, academicians, faculty members, students, and representatives of alumni from around the world. The celebration theme—“Eighty Years of HFUT · Advancing into the Future”—captured the university’s spirit of progress and innovation.

In the afternoon of October 7, the School of Electrical Engineering and Automation invited alumni to visit the State Key Laboratory and participate in an alumni symposium, fostering further exchange and collaboration between the university and its distinguished graduates.
