Heavy Goods Vehicles (HGVs) are an essential part of any thriving economy. Despite high technical standards, HGVs are responsible for a high proportion of road fatalities compared to passenger cars: although they account for less than 3% of the overall vehicle fleet, they are responsible for 15% of road fatalities in the EU. The potential for improving truck safety through Intelligent Connected Vehicle (ICV) technology is huge.

Euro NCAP has launched a comprehensive evaluation program to assess the safety performance of today's HGVs and has presented the first test results. carhs will join Euro NCAP experts and China Merchants Testing Vehicle Technology Research Institute Co., Ltd. (CMVR) to co-host the “Euro NCAP HGV Safety Workshop” in Chongqing, China, on April 29-30, 2025. “The purpose of the 2-day seminar is to provide an overview of the active safety technologies in commercial trucks. The purpose of the 2-day seminar is to introduce the Euro NCAP HGV assessment program and provide background and details on the test procedures, with expert representatives from Euro NCAP on hand to discuss the future of safety assessment for commercial vehicles. In addition, test scenarios from the current Euro NCAP HGV assessment will be demonstrated using the latest test equipment from international suppliers.
与此同时，本次会议将邀请行业主管部门、协会学会、重卡制造商、系统供应商等领导嘉宾，共同探讨商用车主动安全技术的最新进展，分享欧盟重卡安全领域的创新成果，搭建一个推动商用车安全技术进步的国际交流平台。
